Categories of Alerts

RichChat Alerts are divided into the following categories:

Informational

Purpose: Provide updates or general information without requiring action.

Examples:

Policy or Procedure Updates

Purpose: Notify users about organisational or regulatory changes.

Examples:

Emergency or Crisis Alerts

  • Alerts are sent directly to users or groups via the RichChat application.
  • Notifications can include a title, message, priority, and optional action links.

2. Broadcast Channels

  • Suitable for manager-to-team, organisation-to-staff or organisation-to-public messaging.
  • Users can have varying permissions, such as:
    • Originating broadcasts.
    • Subscribing to additional channels (subject to permissions).

3. Subscription Management

  • Users see broadcasts in the default “General” channel.
  • They can opt into other channels based on permissions.
